At it again!
Another 13.1 on Sunday. This has to be the worst idea - EVER! Never have I been this ill prepared for a race. December, uh my vacation, wasn't a vacation at all. I did read more books in one month than I've read all year! I enjoy reading, I just do not have any spare time...
After the race on Sunday; I am full speed ahead with P90X! I feel much stronger after three days. The guy is a little off but I love the results. Eating is another story - I am a hormonal eater.
Anyhoo, the tendon in my foot began to bother me again a few days ago. Maybe this Sunday will be the long awaited finale. Tear already!! Or just go away.
Maybe next post I can tell you about my New Year's Resolutions...all 16 of them!
Okay - time to go to sleep now!

13.1
Too busy to feel accomplished these days.
Half Marathon on Sunday. Resting for a while. Wierd tendon thing in my right foot. Keeping my fingers crossed to finish with a decent time. Training was going so well, fasted time ever on 10 miler. For some reason, I never perform well on race day. We will see.

Can we get a time check?
Okay - last words of the night I swear...it is really 10:54pm. Who is keeping time on this website?
Okay, maybe a brief overview:
-Kaden back on Prevacid for reflux. Dr thinks he is having reflux at night and that is why he is not sleeping. (Such a beautiful kid!) He is 23 lbs and 33 1/3 inches tall! 90% for head circumference, 49% for height (hope for 6 feet someday), and 10-15% for weight. He will dress as a pirate for Halloween complete with 2 swords, eye patch, and hat.
-Artie's band is on their way to showcase. (Get a deal and fast, pretty please!) People continue to ask if I think "something" will come of the music. What they really mean to say is..."did you waste the last 8 years of your life with this loser?" They just don't get it. While it is frustrating at times, unless you have a musical talent (and I don't), we will never understand. This music actually moves me just as Dave Matthew's does. And if you know me, close your mouth.
-Karen...up to 7 miles averaging 9:30min/mile. Awesome for me, a freakishly slow runner. My body is feeling it! Add my allergies and I'm considering taking this week off and running 9 next week. Not smart but it will have to do. San Antonio 5 weeks away. I am hoping to run 4 half marathons in 4 months. I just need to convince someone to run Dallas with me on December 14th. Wendy are you out there? Interested?
-overall feeling: Blessed over a million times.
How lucky am I and what did I do to deserve this? I am madly in love with my husband and son...okay dogs too. My family and my inherited family are amazing! Kaden is growing up with 2 sets of the best Grand Parents anyone could ask for and he also has Great Grandparents that adore him. Not too many kids can say that.
- My new favorite thing to do with Kaden is Eskimo kisses! He says, "Mommy, rub a nose". Ahh - love it! His spanish vocabulary is growing by the day. Latest word, "otro". This child has upgraded his English repitoire to over 200 words. He uses 2 to 3 word combinations and has a memory like an elephant. He is such a mommy's boy - just the way I like it! He loves to kiss, hug, and cuddle. He is my angel and he is sleeping...just like I should be. I am conditioned to not sleep and so the vicious cycle begins. The medication is beginning to work (fingers crossed)...he only woke up once last night. I was awake all night checking his breathing, looking at the ceiling fan, thinking of nothing and everything at the same time. Politics and the financial crisis - then I came to my senses or bored myself to sleep. I have only one thing to say about both of those, WTF? and who is going to fix this mess? That is a whole nother show like Oprah says. Mom, stop shaking your head about the WTF comment - it is okay. You are propobly the only person that reads this crap anyway. I would like to post pictures but I am too lazy. Maybe someday. As the minutes tick away on the clock - I realize I am now rambling and fighting sleep. I will now close my eyes and try to relax - after I check on my baby one last time. Goodnight for now.

Nanny 911 help us please!
Do any of you out there happen to have Nanny 911's cell phone number?
Okay, let me give you a few background details to paint this picture. Kaden has not slept 8 hours since he was born 18 months ago. He just made it into his "big boy bed" 2 weeks ago. He's fallen out of it 4 times. He refuses to sleep through the night (for some reason or another). I promise he began teething the day he was born. We are waiting on these darn molars (the size of dice)and eye teeth (like tips of knives) to finish pushing their way through his tiny little gums at the pace of ketchup.
Today was supposed to be (and I'm not placing blame on anyone) my last triathlon of 2008, the Stephanie Johnson Triathlon. This year's race would be extra memorable since she succumbed to cancer a few weeks ago. With that said, I had a fantastic swim time and could not wait to put my hill training to the test on the run...
Kaden had different plans. His sleep protest lasted for about an hour with him finally passing out about 11pm. At 12pm he sprung up imitating Frankenstein, shaking and screaming "Mommy" - "teeth hurt" - Amazing as I forgot to mention I gave him Motrin before he went to sleep. He cried, and drooled, and screamed. He did not want anyone to touch him with his usual "move", "no touch"...Artie even tried to put him in our bed - it was not happening. Finally, he said "hold me" and I scooped him up, wiped away his tears, gave him a kiss, rubbed his back until he went back to sleep. I thought I could make the race until he woke up an hour later. Every hour to two hours it repeated.
Artie thinks Kaden may have separation anxiety. I think I'm going to run away. Too bad there are no training schools for things like this. You know...you bring your dog to Man's Best Friend and they fix whatever is wrong. Do you think Nanny 911 would live with us until she can fix Kaden's sleeping habits.
Long story short - I did not go to the race. My poor Friends were looking all over for me worried that something bad happened...Sorry ladies. I did look at the results and figured I would have placed right about 50% of my age group which is usually my goal - next to just finishing. The competition looked fierce this year! I saw 2 minute swim times, 21 mph bike rides, and 6 minute mile runs! Yikes.
I do want to say thanks to Chris for always posting on my blog. I do hear from quite a few friends that you to read it! Please feel free to post a response.
To those of you pre/post babies - think about your 5, 6, 7, 8, hours of sleep every night and don't take it for granted! I love my son more than anything, I just wish he would sleep a lot more - not only for me, but for him also.
Here's to a good night's sleep =)
Artie just called - the buzz was playing Project H! yeah

Lactic Acid Build Up - Ouch!
I had an amazing workout yesterday. Stationary bike - 30min - 18mph, intense workout on weights - just legs, and a 45 minute swim. Exited the gym feeling fantastic, until I woke up this morining and I could barely exit my bed. The lactic acid in my legs feels like a ton of bricks attached at my calves and below my butt! I can't even roll it out with "the stick" because it is simply too painful. My next triathlon is Sunday. I am actually feeling pretty good about it, despite being sick for over 7 days with a nasty viral infection. My swim trial was over 2 minutes less than last year - awesome!!
Okay - on a more serious note. I just realized how old I am!!! I finally made it out to see Project H play. Never did I think I could be so out of touch from what I used to love so much. Fashion and music!! Television and magazines are a thing of the past for me. Kaden consumes every free moment I have. I know more about Super Reader, children's books, medical books about kids, and kid's fashion. Two years ago I could dress just about anyone under the table. These days I'm feeling out of place...I am in better shape than all of those 20 somethings clearly because I do not drink and I do exercise. But darn, they do have really cute clothes. Candice, you and I have a date - to the mall we will go!
Project H puts on a good show - the music is more radio friendly than goneblind - but the band just fits together so well. Finally, the right mix of not only looks, but sound also.
Gotta go, Kaden is about to fall out of his bed again. I will reposition him and try to post more often!
Kisses!
